Harvest is an unincorporated community in Madison County, north and west of Huntsville, and much of it is larger-lot homes with mature tree cover.
That tree cover drives the work. It is beautiful, and it keeps parts of every house in shade for most of the day.
Shaded walls stay damp for hours longer after rain. That grows mildew on siding and the algae that causes black streaks on north roof slopes so reliably that we treat it as expected rather than as a problem.
